The HACC has imposed an interim measure in the form of bail exceeding UAH 2 million on another lawyer suspected of inciting a suspect in a corruption case to offer a bribe in exchange for its closure. The court also imposed additional procedural obligations on him.
This is the third interim measure in this case. Earlier, a PGO prosecutor and another lawyer were placed in custody with alternatives of UAH 4 million and UAH 2 million bail, respectively.
The case concerns an PGO prosecutor and several lawyers who, according to the investigation, offered a suspect in a criminal proceeding to arrange for the case to be closed under the “Lozovyi amendments” by bribing officials of the SAPO and the HACC with a $3.5 million bribe. The suspects’ actions have been qualified under Articles 15(2), 27(4), and 369(4) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
