On September 16, the HACC granted a motion by a NABU detective and set a deadline for the defense and the victim to review the pre-trial investigation materials by October 3, 2025.
In addition, the investigating judge ordered the competent bodies to consider disciplinary proceedings against the following lawyers: Pavlo Honcharenko, Oleksandr Kniaziuk, Artem Krykun-Trush, Dmytro Kruhovyi, Vitalii Polozhyshnyk, and Anna Yeremenko.
It should be noted that, according to the HACC monitoring report, the effectiveness of disciplinary proceedings against lawyers leaves much to be desired. During the previous reporting period, HACC judges issued 24 rulings, of which the bar’s disciplinary bodies reviewed only 10. As a result, disciplinary sanctions were imposed on just four lawyers.
In this case, the decision to set a deadline for reviewing the pre-trial investigation materials could not be adopted for more than three months due to various reasons, including the non-appearance of defense lawyers and a motion to recuse the judge.
As reported earlier, former MP Oleksandr Hranovskyi is suspected of organizing the sale of raw materials from the Odesa Portside Plant at artificially reduced prices, causing losses of UAH 93 million to the plant.
