The NABU reports that one of the defendants in the case concerning the sale of a land plot in Zakarpattia at an undervalued price has been extradited to Ukraine.

The case involves Mukachevo Mayor Andrii Baloha and his associates. The NABU alleges that they abused their official positions to sell three hectares of municipal land in the city center for a fraction of its value. Extradited was Nataliia Cherednychenko, an appraiser who, according to the investigation, falsified the expert monetary valuation report of the plot, significantly undervaluing it. This transaction caused losses of UAH 81.7 million to the Mukachevo territorial community.

In the winter of 2024, Cherednychenko was detained in Germany, and Ukraine’s extradition request was later granted. Within 48 hours, the defendant will be brought before the court for a hearing on an interim measure.
